Avengers: Infinity War

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment - the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

• Thanos has more screen time than any Avenger — the Russos call him the actual protagonist.
• The Snap cliffhanger stayed unresolved for a year; 'Mr. Stark, I don't feel so good' became a meme instantly.

• Red Skull returns as the Vormir ferryman — played by Ross Marquand, not Hugo Weaving.
• Thanos' soulworld vision: young Gamora asks what it cost. 'Everything.'
• Peter recognizes the alien trap from 'that really old movie Aliens' — a meta gag about his generation's timeline.

• Wakanda battle, Titan, New York: almost all Pinewood Atlanta — Edinburgh got the Vision ambush for real.
