The Timeline
Not release order — story order. Hover/tap for details and the films involved.
Celestials seed planets, a vibranium meteorite hits the future Wakanda, Ego grows himself into a planet — and the Eternals take up their posts on Earth.
Odin and Hela conquer the Nine Realms (Hela is then locked away and erased from the history books); on Earth, Wenwu finds the Ten Rings and founds his shadow empire.
Steve Rogers becomes a super soldier, fights Hydra and the Tesseract — and buries himself in the ice in 1945. Peggy founds S.H.I.E.L.D. afterwards; Hydra secretly moves in too.
Not canon, but historic: Howard the Duck lands in Cleveland — Marvel's first theatrical film. The real Howard, by the way, sits with the Collector today.
Yondu's Ravagers take little Peter Quill from Earth — and never deliver him to Ego. The galaxy's finest broken rule.
Carol Danvers dismantles a Kree invasion, Fury loses his eye to a Flerken and starts keeping a list of remarkable people. The pager changes hands.
Tony Stark outs himself live — the era of public superheroes begins. Shortly after, the Hulk wrecks Harlem and Samuel Sterns gets Banner blood in his wound.
Thor crashes into New Mexico, Loki reaches for the throne, S.H.I.E.L.D. finds a man in the ice. The world grows much bigger within weeks.
Loki opens a portal over Manhattan; six heroes become a team. On the side (via the 2023 time-travel chaos) the Loki variant is born who will later carry all timelines.
Hydra blows up S.H.I.E.L.D. from inside, the Guardians save Xandar, and on Morag an orb is stolen that shifts the universe's balance of power.
Ultron lives three days and lifts a city into the sky. Vision is born, Wanda becomes an Avenger — and the world starts fearing heroes.
The Sokovia Accords split the Avengers; Zemo's tape does the rest. When the heroes' war ends there is no team anymore — only factions.
Asgard goes down (planned), Hela goes with it (unplanned), Strange learns magic, Peter Parker catches ferries. The densest hero year in history.
Thanos collects six stones in two days. Half of all life crumbles to dust — Wakanda loses its king, a New York bus its passenger.
A halved world learns to keep living: grief groups, rat coincidences, a Thor with a beer belly, a Natasha holding the shop together.
The Time Heist succeeds, everyone returns, the battle for Earth rages. Tony snaps and dies, Steve stays in the past, Sam receives the shield.
Wanda creates Westview, Peter is unmasked — and makes the world forget itself. Three Spider-Men, five villains, one spell: the multiverse is no longer a theory.
Strange learns the word 'incursion' the hard way, Wanda falls with the Darkhold, Talokan declares war on Wakanda, and in the Quantum Realm a conqueror waits.
The President turns into the Red Hulk on live TV, adamantium sparks a race, the Void swallows half of New York — after which a mercenary crew calls itself 'New Avengers'. The Leader warns: the others are coming.
Peter Parker starts over (Brand New Day, in theaters since July 31), White Vision searches for himself — and somewhere on Earth-828 a figure in a metal mask kneels before a child.
Every Story leads to Doom. Avengers, New Avengers, Fantastic Four and the original X-Men against the man who believes he is salvation.
The finale of the Multiverse Saga. If the comics are right: Battleworld, God Emperor Doom — and a newly ordered Marvel universe afterwards.
