Places & Worlds
First the worlds of the multiverse — then the places where the stories happen.
Home of the Avengers, from Iron Man 2008 to Thunderbolts*. Fun fact for purists: officially this world was long called Earth-199999 — only Multiverse of Madness christened it 616, the number of the main comics world. That nerd fight is still running.
The retro-future of the First Family: flying cars, sixties optimism, a defeated Galactus. The number honors Jack Kirby's birthday (August 28). How the F4 get from here into the main MCU is one of Doomsday's core questions.
Here a secret council of Professor X, Captain Carter, Mister Fantastic and co. ruled — until the Scarlet Witch dropped by. Proved: there are worlds where X-Men and F4 have long existed.
Twenty years of X-Men films happen here. The anchor being was Logan; since his death (2029) the world has been slowly dying — Deadpool prevented the TVA's pruning and hooked the world up to the MCU multiverse.
Tobey Maguire's New York: organic webbing, Doc Ock, the emo dance. Its Peter helped out in the MCU in 2021 and went home with a healed back.
Andrew Garfield's world, marked by Gwen's death. His NWH appearance gave the character the closure two of his own films never managed.
Venom, Morbius, Madame Web, Kraven: a universe without Spider-Man, shut down after five years. One drop of symbiote, however, still sits on a bar counter in the MCU …
Home of Miles Morales in the Spider-Verse (numbered after the Ultimate comics). Currently in acute canon crisis — the sequel is pending.
Earth-65: here Gwen Stacy got bitten and Peter died. Watercolor visuals, band drama, her own spider crew.
Every decision births a universe: zombie apocalypses, Captain Carter, an Ultron with all six stones, Party Thor. The Watcher observes them all — and the Guardians of the Multiverse proved variants make world-class teams too.
Not a universe but the space between: the TVA headquarters, the Void with Alioth as garbage disposal — and at the end of time Loki's throne, where all timelines converge.
It does not exist yet: the patchwork planet Doom forges from the wreckage of dead universes in the comics. If Doomsday ends the way we suspect, THIS is the stage of Secret Wars.
Before there was a 'universe' there were islands: Blade's nights, Ang Lee's Hulk, Cage's burning skull, Affleck's Daredevil — and in 1986 the duck that started it all (badly). None of these worlds was ever numbered; the multiverse has room for them anyway.
